Watching your favorite team playis an amazing feeling, and then if your team wins, that is a whole other kind of ecstasy. Tennis is a more physically demanding game. Being an individual sport, The tennis player needs to single-handedly keep things on track as his tiredness, fatigue and mistakes would directly impact the result of the game.
Football, on the other hand, is a more collective sport where the players complement each other. Football games have a maximum playing time of minutes, and on the other hand, in tennis, there is mostly a standard time. Especially in grand tournaments, almost all matches exceed the 2 hour time barrier.
OR Do you discourage a player from only playing tennis? There are many reasons for this. The obvious one is that different sports develop different skills. Kids may love pizza, but if they have it morning, noon and night, seven days a week, they will soon get sick of it! The challenge for everyone is the specialisation. Tennis is often referred to as a later specialisation sport; specialisation starts to kick in from around xxx years. The final point I want to make is that a group sport can have a bigger impact on the audience because it is a social event as much as it is a sporting event.
I have learnt to make an effort for a team mate and I know that tomorrow he will do the same for me in order to achieve our common goals. It is these interactions between team mates which enrich the sport. Football is a microcosm of society, where people gather together, share aspirations, make plans and objectives, and sets out to achieve them together.
Differences of opinion will occur, people will get upset and bust-ups will inevitably occur. Managing these issues is part of the sport. Achieving victories together sweetens the experience of playing the sport. In my opinion, the complexities and the richness of football cannot be compared to individual sports such as tennis and golf. Football is simply the best game in the world.
Pep Guardiola perhaps has the ultimate reason for why football is the only universally loved game:. We have forgotten about that word, to play. We at the bottom play football, we play everyday.
I play dreaming about the next game and my players play everyday. New User posted their first comment. Log in. Modified 07 Oct Edited by Staff Editor. Pep Guardiola. Great for both aerobic and anaerobic exercise, tennis builds leg strength and improves coordination, agility and balance.
Tennis is a high impact sport, meaning your body will experience some wear and tear and your game will necessarily evolve as you age. That said, tennis lends itself to this transition better than most high impact sports.
While you may sprint slower or smash less, tennis remains a viable exercise for your heart, flexibility, balance and coordination as you age. At the same time, cycling strengthens and tones muscles, improves flexibility and mobility and increases stamina. And, much like swimming, its advocates report reduced stress, anxiety and depression.
Biking and cycling expose you to people — and vehicles — who are not actively aware of you. Safety is key : wearing helmets and bright colors is essential as well as attaching other precautions to your bike like lights and reflectors.
