I think you do need much better glass for a D or D than a D to get the best out of the sensor and a much steadier hand or fast shutter speeds for really sharp pictures. Such a high amount of photo sites will pick up any lens movement I reckon if Nikon also produced a "D" with a 24MP sensor, it'd be more appealing to a wider audience.
