Does anyone like adam sandler

Can you blame him for Grown Ups? He was having fun with his friends. Will Sandler ever give monosyllabic answers in an interview out of spite? Has he ever walked out of an interview? Has he ever had any battles in the press or PR disasters? Give the guy a fucking break—and an Oscar. Hate is a strong word and indicates passion. A more appropriate response is indifference. Personally, I've never found Sander's movies funny. His comedic style reminds me of Jerry Lewis.

He's over the top and exaggerated as if trying too hard. He screams when a more subtle reaction would work. I love smart comedies about dumb people, but Sandler's movies are dumb comedies about dumb people.

It's like eating at McDonald's; the post-meal regret is awful much like I feel after seeing a Sandler film. Perhaps it's a generational thing. I prefer comic actors who lose themselves in their roles. With Sandler, you're always aware of his presence making it hard to lose yourself in the film as a whole. Pop Culture. She also later confirmed to E!

Then a week later, McGowan tweeted that she was fired by her acting agent for speaking out on the sexist wardrobe request. For real. I just got fired by my wussy acting agent because I spoke up about the bullshit in Hollywood.

The awesome thing about being an artist? You can't be fired from your own mind. What in the fuck is going on? She went on to say that she never had any intention of accepting the part anyway, which is why she decided to tweet about the ridiculous, infantilizing casting note. By and large, younger fans often point back to these early movies as what made them loyal fans.

Nostalgia is a powerful force. All you have to do is look at Star Wars fans to figure that out. So for Adam Sandler fans, watching his new movies brings them back to when they watched his early movies for the first time. Again, they think his dumb, juvenile and silly comedy is funny.

They have no problem investing in it and enjoy watching it. They go in knowing what his movies are going to be and are totally OK with it. More often than not, they like to keep the bar high, especially if other competing comedies have set a standard for the genre. This is why his comedies might not sit so nicely with critics.

After receiving consistently poor reviews , I bet it would have been tempting for Adam Sandler to pull away from his typical schtick, do something totally new and try to make a comedy that impresses the critics. Too often this means regurgitating what he has done in the past, but with a slight change. Most of his comedies are the same, but come wrapped in different packaging.

Of course, by pressing in so hard to appeal to his fans, Adam Sandler's sacrificed having his comedies being taken seriously by critics. Critics seem to overwhelmingly want smarter writing and less childish, low-brow humor; fans want more of that. Could he make a comedy that appeals to both? Answering that question would likely be an article unto itself. Fans wanting to have that same feeling rush to his movies to experience it.

They might not even find them that funny, but since the movies have a lighthearted and silly tone, they watch them anyway. Adam Sandler seems to realize this.
